We’ve had a great time with SJA DofE Leaders on the Level 3 Qualification in Lowland Expedition Leadership course we’re running for them. Lots of learning has taken place in the Surrey Hills and plenty of ideas for developing expedition skills with DofE participants 😊
Congratulations to the DofE Leaders who successfully passed their assessment weekend for the Level 3 Qualification in Lowland Expedition Leadership. You were fantastic and impressed the assessor with your navigation and camp craft slills, as well as demonstating great soft skills. Well done 😊
We ran a 5-day intensive Level 3 Qualification in Lowland Expedition Leadership course last week at the Longmynd Adventure Camp in Shropshire, which went really well, with all delegates meeting the learning outcomes of the course. Well done to all 😊

Now off to Shropshire to run our popular 5-day LEL3 course for DofE Leaders. It’s a busy Easter holiday lol
Just 2 spaces remaining on our next Lowland Expedition Leadership (LEL3) course, taking place in April. The perfect qualification for prospective DofE expedition leaders ☺ For more information, please see our LEL3 web page under the ‘Leader Training’ menu.
We’ve had confirmation from the National DofE Award Adviser of St John Ambulance, that they wish to use us for delivering the Level 3 Qualification in Lowland Expedition Leadership to its national staff and volunteers, who will be supporting DofE participants within the Expedition section 😊
Some great feedback from our latest 5-day Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Qualification in Lowland Expedition Leadership course, held at Bentley Copse Activity Centre in the Surrey Hills area this week, and delivered to DofE Leaders from SE schools and centres:
Thanks for all your help this week, we seemed to fit in so much but it was fabulous fun and whizzed by. As a team you have been calm and supportive throughout with a good dose of humour…impressive when given a bunch of teachers to work with!
It has been a pleasure working with you and I hope to send more of our teachers your way in the future.
Hope you have a restful weekend”
“Sooooo much fun, very enjoyable and Dave, Ben and Owen are incredibly friendly, approachable and, most importantly, knowledgable. Thanks guys, you won’t be seeing the last of me!! 😊”
“Learnt fun and interesting ways to put across information to young people, e.g. cones 4×4 grid direction exercise.”
“I feel confident to go back to school and put my new knowledge straight into practice.”
“A super course! Lots of detail, with all of the elements of the LEL3 learning outcomes covered and explained and put into practice.”
“Really enjoyable and useful, thank you! Such an approachable team, so you feel more comfortable asking questions and advice.”
“Many thanks for a fantastic course. Will be in contact again.”
Our next course in April, held at the Longmynd Adventure Camp, Shropshire, is nearly full, with just a couple of places remaining 😊
